Jerry Ice, Ed.D. , Chief Executive Officer/President, GS Graduate School

Dr. Jerry Ice became the CEO and President of the GS Graduate School in September 2001.  He joined the School after an18-year tenure as Provost and Academic Vice President at Thomas Edison State College in Trenton, New Jersey.

As Associate Dean at Montclair State University, Dr. Ice administered an evening college, beginning a distinguished career in adult continuing higher education.  He then served as Dean of the School of Continuing Education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  As Provost and Academic Vice President at Thomas Edison State College Dr. Ice created the most comprehensive program of degree offerings, methods of degree completion, and services devoted to adults in American higher education.

He is now the tenth CEO and President of the GS Graduate School since the school’s inception in 1921.  The School provides individuals with opportunities for career advancement, enrolling nearly 200,000 individuals in nearly 800 courses and programs.  In addition to delivering educational programs nationwide, the GS Graduate School has branch campuses in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Philadelphia, Honolulu, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.  

Dr. Ice received his doctoral degree from Fordham University.  He continues to serve on the Boards of Directors of a number of organizations devoted to promoting adult continuing education. Currently he is Chair of the Board of Trustees, Mountain State University, Beckley, West Virginia. In addition, he is on the advisory boards at Penn Foster College and Excelsior College.
