Geoffrey Deutsch

Mr. Geoffrey J. Deutsch is President and Chief Executive Officer at Armed Forces Services Corporation (AFSC). He is also Managing Director of the Veterans Innovation Centre (VIC) and a board member of the National Centre for Social Entrepreneurs.

Geoff has spent nearly 25 years helping transform large systems for delivering healthcare and human services.  He began his career as a “turnaround” executive with international hospital systems, health technology companies, case management firms and human service organizations where he established a record of rapid, breakthrough performance improvements. Most of his work has dealt with the government and non-profit sectors, implementing “business disciplines” for innovation and quality into mission-driven organizations.  He was introduced to the non-profit sector when he was recruited to help transform the American Red Cross Blood Program.

As a volunteer, Geoff has supported the presidents and boards of several national charities, with a focus on applying business principals to the non-profit sector. He began serving the Armed Forces Services Corporation (AFSC) as a volunteer in 2001 and was named its President and CEO in 2006.

Geoff holds a B.S. in Architecture from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A. from Colgate Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia.
