Dr. Fred M. Lang

Dr. Fred Lang, was appointed to the position of Director, Office of Training and Knowledge Management at the Department of Commerce (DOC) in 2004. He is also the DOC Chief Learning Officer.  In 2006, Dr. Lang founded the Federal inter-agency Chief Learning Officer Council and was its Chairperson for five consecutive years.  Dr. Lang received his PhD from the California Institute of Integral Studies-San Francisco in 2000 where his focus was on organizational behavior.  In 2010, he received the Bronze Award from the Office of the Secretary, U.S. Department of Commerce for his work on the design and development of Department-wide Leadership Development Programs.  Dr. Lang also created the Department's Leadership Development Succession Planning Strategy, he has innovated at DOC using cutting-edge learning delivery systems; and has led initiatives to develop standard competency models for the Federal Government.
